Disney and McDonald's

The relationships between McDonalds and Disney, and the relationships between companies in "Merchants of Cool" take the same goal, and work together towards achieving it. This goal, is selling to kids.
McDonalds and Disney both saw the potential of advertising to the youngest generations because kids influence what their parents buy. These two companies worked together to sell more and appeal more to children.
In "Merchants of Cool", MTV and Sprite work together to get the attention of teens. They put on a concert together mostly to sell Sprite.
These companies all have something in common. They all realize that the best people to target, are teens. By doing that, they sell the most.
